  • General Information

The journey from lump of clay to functional or decorative pottery is long and varied. Each of my pieces is either hand-built or thrown on the pottery wheel. Some are then carved, altered, or perhaps painted with underglaze or monoprinted… or all of the above! Once completely dried, it’s time for fire. It takes roughly 24 hours for the kiln to completely finish firing and cool down enough to unload the pieces. Pottery that survives that first fire is sometimes given further decoration, but all are brushed with glaze before meeting the fire again. Each piece is then sanded on the bottom to a smooth finish and washed, measured for size and volume, and photographed. The whole process can take several weeks. While some of my pieces have similarities and I occasionally make a collection of nearly identical forms, my intention is for each item to be one-of-a-kind.

  • Shipping

Please allow up to 3 business days for your item to be packed and shipped.

Shipping is available anywhere in the U.S. at this time.

If you live in Knox County, Tennessee, you have the option to choose local pickup and arrange a time and place to pick up your piece.

Items are shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Shipping prices are determined by weight.

I am doing my best to use recycled boxes and packing materials. I try to always use biodegradable packing peanuts, but if you receive a box with Styrofoam packing peanuts, know that they were saved from shipments I’ve received. Please reuse the boxes and any packing material.

  • Returns & Exchanges

My hope is that you will be 100% happy and satisfied with your purchase. Please read the description of items prior to purchasing and send me an email with any questions you may have.

    I do not offer exchanges.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please contact me within 3 days of receiving your package and you may return the item (at your expense) for a full refund of the price of the item, excluding shipping.

If your piece arrives damaged or broken, please contact me immediately and provide photos of the packaging and piece. This will help me resolve any packaging issues in the future. I will issue a refund for the entire purchase price, including shipping.

  • Custom Orders

Generally speaking, I seldom do custom orders. However, if my style of ceramic artwork seems like a good fit for something you would like made, use the Contact page and give me as much detail as you can about what you’re looking for in a custom piece. If it is a project I feel I can successfully make for you, I’ll outline the terms and get started.

I will not copy or duplicate another artist’s work.

Please remember that custom pieces will have to be worked in with my regular work and because I am a small batch potter, it can take several months for me to complete a custom order.

The minimum price for a custom piece is $65.00 and the cost is dependent upon several factors: materials used, size and type of project, and time involved.
